Parish Councils Collaboratee

The parishes of Hatfield Heath, Little Hallingbury and Great Hallingbury have formed a collaborative working group, with two members from each council, to evaluate and respond to the sites submitted under the District Council's 'Call for Sites' process.  This group is called the Three Parishes Local Planning Group

 

The 'Call for Sites' is where landowners and promoters are invited to submit their holdings for inclusion in the local plan developmental process.

 

Whilst UDC has stated there has been six times the amount of land it needs submitted, our councils feel strongly that the South of the district is under considerable threat from speculative sites that are both unwelcome and unsustainable.  

 

If these sites are included to the next stage of the process the danger is our area will will be covered in concrete, from Harlow to Takeley and beyond.

 

Our councils will be undertaking a rigorous examination of these sites and will be advising Uttlesford District Council of our initial findings, which are that they do not meet the many faceted sustainability criteria necessary.

 

The USAG website will regularly update and publish documents produced by the local planning groups.
